The first steps to obtain building permits and prior to any sewage system construction, is conducting soil testing. This includes test pits, soil texturing, percolation testing, identifying restrictive elements and evaluating topography. After the health authority accepts the design/filing, the next steps are to either obtain necessary building permits or to start constructing the sewage system.
